Scarce Queen's South Africa for 'Rhodesia' and 'Relief of Mafeking' to the Rhodesia Regt.

Queen's South Africa, clasps 'Rhodesia', 'Relief of Mafeking', Orange Free State, 'Transvaal'; 215 Cpl. A. M. Marshall, Rhodesia Regt.

Condition - original (frayed) ribbon; GVF+.

Correct on rolls, which show service in "C" Squadron and later service in C-in-Cs Bodyguard.

Recipient served in the regiment specially raised by Herbert Plumer to guard the long Rhodesian border and was at times very thinly spread in the face of expected Boer incursions.
It played a leading part in Plumer's efforts to relieve Mafeking from the Rhodesia side.
